Petaluma Hotline
The Petaluma hotline steering committee met on Sunday February 15 to discuss the future of the local hotline. It was decided that the hotline would continue on a month to month basis so long as there is sufficient financial support from local meetings, and there are enough volunteers to staff the hotline.
Here is what we need:
1.
VOLUNTEERS
–
Of 28 shifts, there are currently only 13
covered. The requirements are 1 year of continuous sobriety and a
working
knowledge of the steps. Volunteers would be responsible for a weekly
scheduled
shift. Calls would be forwarded directly to them during that period of
time. You
would be answering scheduling questions as well as talking to
alcoholics in
need. Please contact us to see what shifts are available.
2.
FINANCIAL
SUPPORT – Many groups have
contributed in the past but support has dwindled over the last couple
of years.
We would like to get the word out about the current status of the
hotline so
that groups can decide whether they can afford to or are interested in
contributing. If your group would like more information or would like
someone
from the hotline to attend your steering committee please contact us.
Please join us at the next steering committee meeting on
Sunday, March 22 @ 9:00am at the Alano Club. We
look forward to hearing all ideas and opinions regarding the hotline.
